Did you know the Ford Mustang created the "Pony Car" class of american cars, commonly mistaken for "muscle cars". Well, we hate to break it to you, but it is one hundred percent true. In the 60's, America needed something different, something that showed the world how it stood at the peak of automobile design. After a few test models, the 1964 Ford Mustang came to be and it changed everything. It introduced a new experience that America truly needed, from then on, this beautiful pony continues to turn heads and reinvent itself.
A few years later, pony cars like the Camaro, Hemi Cuda, G.T.O., Trans Am and a few others came to production ready to put their mark on the floor and compete for the title of America's Pony Car. Not everyone made it past the first years of the race. Slowly but surely, competitors began to fall off the map unable to compete and maintain production.
The Mustang proved itself to put up a fight on the track, the streets and international markets. More than ten million Ford Mustangs have been sold across the world, no other pony car has had the success and reach as the Mustang.
Although 50 plus years have passed, the Ford Mustang continues to reinvent itself and bring awe to everyone who takes a look. It is the American icon of cars, every new generation of Mustangs brings something modern and new to the table. Today, a four cylinder engine produces more horsepower and torque than the original v-8 engines of the 60's. No wonder it continues to be America's Pony.
For one second, forget the horsepower and the amazing technology that makes the car unlike any other, simply sitting behind the wheel you can feel and see the history of this machine. It feels like a cockpit, like something out of a movie in real life. Being able to control so much power and force is only achievable because of the high standards in its handling design. I encourage you to drive one, feel how you and the car become one, man and machine.
